On New Things and True Love

Another valentines day has come and gone. By now the chocolates are gone, and the flowers are starting to wilt. In the past valentines day has mostly been a dread because it forced me to recognize my single status. This is surely a season of change and transition. Old things pass away because these last two years I have really begun to embrace my time alone. This season of singleness has allowed me to recognize true love. A love so deep that he would leave his riches in heaven to come to earth to rescue me by taking my penalty on the cross. This is the perfect romance that we see on television and read about in novels. Jesus is that handsome knight that comes to save his princess from distress and destruction. We are so dearly loved that Christ would come to earth and suffer so much agony for our redemption. There is no greater love than this--that he he would lay down his life for us. With new seasons come change. As God takes me into new seasons, opportunities and relationships my hope is that I remember the lessons learned during this current season. The most important lesson is that Christ is my great love. While he places opportunities and people in my life he is the giver of all perfect gifts. " Love never gives up, never looses faith is always hopeful and endures through every circumstance"~ 1 Corinthians 7.
